Civic Participation
In the spirit of keeping things local, Real Good Toys has partnered with a group of retired senior crafters who build and finish (and sometimes furnish) RGT dollhouse kits for local charities. The dollhouses are raffled or auctioned off in fundraisers to benefit the many Vermont non-profits and altruistic causes in our community. The Seniors group finishes about one dollhouse a month and have completed more than 100 dollhouses for good causes!
So far, our combined efforts have resulted in more then $85,000 benefiting children, cancer research, the homeless, the uninsured, the mentally ill, environmental & historical preservation, local libraries and the police department… to name a few.
We look forward to continuing the program and hope the model of this partnership will appeal to others. It’s a “Win-Win” situation for all!
